The Canucks continue with their best home season is years, going 4-1-0 in this block.
St. Louis 4 Vancouver 6
Wide open game with 80 SOG. Rask was average stopping 43 of 47 SOG, while Vasilevskiy struggled, stopping 23 of 29 SOG before being pulled. Jenner and Gaudreau each get 3 points and Vlasic and Demelo both go +4 plus/minus.
Boston 3 Vancouver 4
Good back and forth game, although Boston never led. They were tied or trailed by one until Boeser scored to give Vancouver a 4-2 lead at 14:42 of the third period. That insurance goal was crucial as McDavid pulled Boston back within one at 18:10, but the Bs couldn’t get the equalizer before time ran out. Jenner had a goal and assist, giving him 3G and 2A in the last two home games.
San Jose 4 Vancouver 1
The Sharks scored three goals in the first 12:29 of the game and cruised to an easy victory, although Gaudreau ruined Hellebuyck’s shutout bid.
Los Angeles 3 Vancouver 8
Very probably the worst beating I ever saw a goalie take in all my years of playing SOM. Fleury gives up 4 goals on the first 5 shots he faces, and gives up 5 goals on 9 shots in the first period. He ends up giving up 8 goals on 22 shots. He goes 0 for 8 on GRs (never saw that before), although the last two goals were scored on ” Faceoff * ” on the poor fatigued guy. The coach must have a bone to pick with poor Fleury. Negates a strong game by Toews, who had two goals and an assist.
Toronto 2 Vancouver 5
Vancouver outshoots the Leafs 23-4 in the first period but only leads 1-0 on an Eakin PPG. Usually this bodes a collapse when the other team starts getting shots, but not this time as Vancouver outscores Toronto 4-2 in the last two periods despite being outshot 24-20. Vancouver did not give Toronto a single power play while going 2 for 5 themselves.
