Winnipeg turns the corner

After a last-minute loss to Chicago, I decided to change things up.  Pulled out an old favorite for the goal song in strat, swapped in some Brass Bonanza and it worked.  The Jets reeled off 4 straights wins to go 4-1-0 this interval.
To change the goal song or any of the wav files used in the computer game, just find the wav file you want to use and copy it to C:\SOMH\DATA.  Rename the current file, (i.e. homegoal.wav to old_homegoal.wav) so you have it if you want to revert back and then rename the wav file you copied in.  In my case with the attached goalstereo.wav I renamed it to homegoal.wav.
Just something to add to the fun.  If you can only find an mp3, you can use free sites to convert the files.  This is the one I used for Brass Bonanza.  https://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-wav

Dallas results block 4

COLORADO-  Coach Dale Hunter was in a good mood having just returned from the World Juniors & Coaching Canada to the Gold Medal!  However, back on his real job, Hunter was livid with the officiating in a game vs the Avs!  Colton Parayko had tied the game at two apiece midway thru the 3rd & Dallas was looking for a Power-Play, Hunter figured the odds were that his team would get a chance seeing as the Avs had 5 chances already to the Stars zero!  Hunter was wrong, the Avalanche got 4 more chances & scored on two of them for a 4-2 Win in Texas!  Hunter screaming after the game ” Chris Lee & Dan O’Halloran are the worst refs in the League, they put us Short-Handed 9 times in this game!  We never got a Power-Play, the fans pay good money to watch a hockey game & those clowns stole the show! Nine times-unbelievable!
TORONTO-  Jordan Stall, who only had one Goal so far this season, exploded for the “Hat Trick” playing on the Top Line with Meier & Atkinson!  Stars took a 3-1 lead into the 3rd & both teams scored 3 Goals in a Wild finish!  Referee’s Ian Walsh & Wes McCauley, who were at their hotel last night when they heard about the Avs game & the Coach(Hunter)going off, were tight-lipped about the situation  as they played “Homer” refs tonight, giving the Stars 4 chances & the Leafs none!
LOS ANGELES-  Veteran defenseman & MSU Alum Duncan Keith has a 3 Assist night as the Kings topple the Stars 5-3!  The Saad,Toews,Kane Line was a +3 as they humiliated the Marchand,Backstrom,Atkinson trio tonight!  In losing for the 2nd time in their last 3 Home games & getting outshot 45-33, Coach Hunter wasnt happy with their face-offs!  We got beat way too many times, I just might have to take (Ryan)Kesler off long-term IR & put him back in the Line-up!
SAN JOSE-  After the Stars poor effort two days ago vs the Kings, they bounced back by routing Connor Hellebuyck for 4 Goals in the 1st period & sending him to an early siesta!  Brayden Point, who had the “Hat Trick” when San Jose made their first visit(Game 6)of the season, scored “Hat Trick” #2 as his line Marchand & Wilson scored 4 times in a 6-3 Win!  Coach Hunter on Tom Wilson who had 3 Assists in game ” Tommy did a good job on Landeskog even though Gabe did score once!
BOSTON-  Cam Atkinson scores twice & adds an assist as the Stars drop the B’s 5-1!  Familiar to the New England visitors, Goaltender Jaroslav Halak was sensational in this contest, stopping 43 shots(7/8 gr’s) & taking a lap as 1st Star tonight!  Nick Backstrom, who took Brayden Point’s spot on the #1 PP unit, scored a PPG to make score 3-1 in the 2nd period!  Point had the day off for maintenence.

Los Angeles at St.Louis…block 4

A re-occuring theme this year at home. Carey Price not playing like his real life stats. Price was a .918 goalie last year which should deliver a good card. But in home games for the Blues his save percentage is .872. Ugh….. cannon fodder. Odds say it should turn around , but against the Kings Price stops just 4 of 9 goalie ratings as the Blues take it on the chin.

Toronto at St.Louis Block 4

Not sure the Blues deserved to win this one. They had a terrific first period and then the wheels came off. Toronto dominated the last two periods but St.Louis picks up the win in the shootout. Maybe Carey Price is finally coming around after a horrific start. Lemieux effective cutting down on penetration so gets his second start, and Tyson Jost is finally kept off the scoresheet but was tempted to give him some powerplay time.

GAME STORY
In their home arena the Blues prevailed in a shootout over Toronto by the final score of 2 to 1. The shootout’s game deciding goal was recorded by EVGENY KUZNETSOV. The Blues was 2 for 5 in shootout attempts, while Toronto went 1 for 5. CAREY PRICE was outstanding in goal. He allowed just one goal while facing 40 shots. Goal scorers were JUSTIN WILLIAMS for Toronto and JESPER BRATT for St. Louis.

Canucks block 4

The Canucks continue with their best home season is years, going 4-1-0 in this block.
St. Louis  4    Vancouver  6
Wide open game with 80 SOG.  Rask was average stopping 43 of 47 SOG, while Vasilevskiy struggled, stopping 23 of 29 SOG before being pulled.  Jenner and Gaudreau each get 3 points and Vlasic and Demelo both go +4 plus/minus.
Boston  3    Vancouver  4
Good back and forth game, although Boston never led.  They were tied or trailed by one until Boeser scored to give Vancouver a 4-2 lead at 14:42 of the third period.  That insurance goal was crucial as McDavid pulled Boston back within one at 18:10, but the Bs couldn’t get the equalizer before time ran out.  Jenner had a goal and assist, giving him 3G and 2A in the last two home games.
San Jose  4    Vancouver  1
The Sharks scored three goals in the first 12:29 of the game and cruised to an easy victory, although Gaudreau ruined Hellebuyck’s shutout bid.
Los Angeles  3    Vancouver  8
Very probably the worst beating I ever saw a goalie take in all my years of playing SOM.  Fleury gives up 4 goals on the first 5 shots he faces, and gives up 5 goals on 9 shots in the first period.  He ends up giving up 8 goals on 22 shots.  He goes 0 for 8 on GRs (never saw that before), although the last two goals were scored on ” Faceoff * ” on the poor fatigued guy.  The coach must have a bone to pick with poor Fleury.  Negates a strong game by Toews, who had two goals and an assist.
Toronto  2    Vancouver  5
Vancouver outshoots the Leafs 23-4 in the first period but only leads 1-0 on an Eakin PPG.  Usually this bodes a collapse when the other team starts getting shots, but not this time as Vancouver outscores Toronto 4-2 in the last two periods despite being outshot 24-20.  Vancouver did not give Toronto a single power play while going 2 for 5 themselves.

Boston at St.Louis.. Block 4

The St.Louis Blues always like to get each player into one game and this time it was Brendan Lemieux making his Blues debut. Coach Brian Sutter was not fooling around and stuck Lemieux on the top line with Scheifele and Foligno to provide some extra intimidation against the top line of the Bruins. Lemieux did take a penalty for the most part a successful debut. Tyson Jost also got into the lineup and the youngster continues to impress picking up another point on the fourth line. Jost now has three points in two games. Looks like Brandon Sutter might be finding some more bench time despite his fine defense.

GAME STORY
In a close game, the Blues defeated Boston by a score of 4 to 2. St.Louis poured on the pressure outshooting Boston 40 to 25. VLADIMIR TARASENKO netted the game winning goal at 13:35 of the 3rd period. Other goal scorers were DOMINIK KAHUN and JACCOB SLAVIN for Boston and MATTHEW TKACHUK, NICK FOLIGNO and MIKAEL GRANLUND for St. Louis.
