Canucks block 3

For the third time in a row, Vancouver wins three games in a block, this time going 3-1-1.  Four of the games were one goal games, with one going to the shootout and one ending in overtime.
Game #11  Winnipeg 3  Vancouver 4  SO
Good back and forth game.  Kreider takes a penalty which leads to the Eakin PPG that gave Vancouver the 3-2 lead at 11:21 of the 3rd period.  But Kreider then redeems himself by scoring with only 42 seconds left in regulation.  However, Gaudreau gets the only goal in the shootout and secures the Canuck win.
Game #12  Colorado 1  Vancouver 4
Only game that wasn’t tight.  Vancouver scores twice in both on the first two periods, with Eakin scoring twice.  DeBrincat ruins Rask’s shutout bid at 17:27 of the third period.  Rask went 8 for 8 on GRs while facing 38 SOG.  Meanwhile Vancouver only had 26 SOG, but got 4 past Campbell, who was only 3 for 6 on GRs.
Game #13  Dallas 2  Vancouver 1
Thirteen was not lucky for the Canucks as they totally dominate the Stars, but lose the game.  They outshoot Dallas 46-18, they go 0 for 7 on the power play while not giving Dallas one power play, they go 12 for 17 on faceoffs, have 15 takeaways to Dallas’ 8, and they lose in a very painful fashion.  After two periods, it is 1-0 Vancouver on an outside shot goal by Josi.  Its still 1-0 with less than 5 minutes in regulation when Hoffman scores to tie it 1-1.  Then the dagger to the heart, with 13 seconds left Arvidsson scores on an outside shot that flutters by Rask, and the Canuck fans go home in shock.  Halak goes 11 for 11 on GRs, where it felt like “5” kept coming up over and over.   If “5” was a goal, Vancouver wins by about 6-2.
Game #14  New Jersey 3  Vancouver 2  OT
Good back and forth game, literally, as the Devils scored first, Vancouver ties it, Devils score again, Vancouver ties it again, and Devils win in OT.  Hertl was the star scoring twice on seven shots and going 10 for 16 on faceoffs on the road, including the game winner where New Jersey took advantage of a 4 on 3 power play following a penalty to Roussel.
Game #15  Philadelphia 1  Vancouver 2
For a while it looked like a repeat of the Dallas game, as it was 0-0 after two periods, despite the Canucks dominating play. But then all the scoring was done in a pretty small window, from 2:08 to 5:04 of the third period.  That’s when Johnson scored for the Canucks, Dzingel answered for the Flyers, and Gaudreau scored the GWG for the Canucks.  Both Rask and Mrazek ended with the same save percentage as Vancouver scored twice as many goals as Philadelphia and they had twice as many shots, 42-21.
New road manager to follow in a separate email to you, Matt.  We are hoping to improve our road record with a stronger CM going forward. The biggest improvement being the goalie, where Big Ben is ready to roll.
