Dallas rebounds in block 2

SAN JOSE- The back to back Swain Cup Champs, who retooled a bit in the off-season with the trade of Popular Forward Vladimir Tarasenko for netminder Connor Hellebuyck, showed they still have enough firepower in the line-up ,as this contest was tied at Four apiece late in Period Three! A frustrated Timo Meier, who was -3 going against the Barkov Line, dropped his gloves with Nikita Kucherov, who had a Goal & Two Assists so far, the Fighting Major gave Kuch the “Gordie Howe Hat Trick” (a Goal,Assist & a Fight). Brayden Point ,who had a Natural “Hat Trick” in this game, found a wide-open Cam Atkinson in Overtime & Cam slammed it home for the 5-4 Win!

 

BOSTON- Viktor Arvidsson, playing his first Home game of the season, after sitting out the first six at home due to nagging injuries, scored Twice on the Power-Play & Goalie Jaroslav Halak, who came over from Winnipeg in a deal for youngster Jack Roslivic & two draft picks, stopped 44 shots(7/7 gr’s) as Dallas prevails 4-1 over the B’s!

 

 

 

WINNIPEG- Ralph Strangis, who does the play by play for the Stars, took all sorts of heat from the Jets as they left town! Jets Goalie John Gibson should have been one of the game’s 3 Stars, but the home’r announcer didnt pick him! Gibson made 46 saves(7/9 gr’s),had Tyler Bertuzzi’s number twice(1-9), a little Beagle(1-4) & Brayden Point (1-15)with two minutes left in regulation! Gibson got the point, but the Jets couldnt get two as Mike Hoffman scored the lone Goal in the Shootout in a 3-2 Score!

 

 

CHICAGO- The concession workers are getting overtime again, as for the 3rd time in the last 4 at home,the game goes to Overtime! The Hawks John Tavares scored with just under 5 minutes to play to tie score at two & send this game to extra time! Jaroslav Halak made a highlite reel save on Mark Giordano(1-17)Short-Handed in the 2nd period among his 43 saves! Brayden Point, who scored the game’s 1st Goal, also scored the game’s last Goal, as he was the lone player to score in the Shootout!

 

 

 

MINNESOTA- Josh Bailey scored an unassisted Goal in the 1st period as Dallas outshot the Wild 15-6! The dam broke in period two as the lifeless visitors were outshot again 17-8 & the Stars bounced three by Jimmy Howard for a 4-0 lead! Nathan MacKinnon would break the shutout in period three as the Wild had a 18-7 shot advantage, but Howie got beat twice more, including the 1st of the year by Tom Wilson, in a 6-1 romp

 

 

 

Dallas,,,,, Coach Dale Hunter was asked about his team’s slow start to the season(11th place after 10 gms) Dale replied ” This latest homestand should help(5 game win streak)but 3 teams still got a point as we went to OT 3 times, but with 8 chairs out there, the next time the music stops, we hope to steal somebody’s chair!
