Leafs enter the block in 10th place overall, get off to a promising start including an important win over Tampa, then follow through on how most of the season has gone and frustrate and disappoint over the final 2 games.
Toronto 4, Buffalo 1 – Patric Hornqvist scored 2, JVR added a PPG and the Leafs stayed out of the box and rolled to a 4-1 win.
Toronto 2, Winnipeg 1 (OT) – Jets dominated the 2nd and 3rd periods, out-shooting the Leafs 34-7, but Casey DeSmith stood on his head and Sidney Crosby won it in OT.
Toronto 2, Tampa 1 – Hornqvist scored twice again and Darcy Kuemper made 29 saves, including all 16 shots he faced in the 3rd.
Los Angeles 4, Toronto 3 – Kings score twice quickly in the 3rd to take a 4-2 lead and hold on at the end for the win.
New Jersey 6, Toronto 3 – Leafs can’t score much and couldn’t stop many in this one as a promising start to the block finishes on a sour note.
