Dallas block 1

VANCOUVER- The Stars, who have lost their last 5 Home Openers, including a 10-2 Blitz by these Canucks 4 years ago, caught Vancouver coming off a long road trip to Greece for exibition play! Stars score 4 times in the opening period sending veteran Roberto “Lou” Luongo to an early shower! Down 5-1 in the 3rd period, the Canucks Kyle Palmeri dropped the gloves with Brad Marchand & that gave the Star’s Left-Winger the “Gordie Howe Hat Trick” as he had a Goal,Assist, & a Fight! Cam Atkinson scored twice in a 5-2 Final!


CHICAGO- It was a 3-3 game into the 3rd period when Martin Hanzal scored twice on his shift for a 5-3 Hawks lead! Jordan Stall scores with two minutes left & Philipp Grubauer heads to the bench, Stars looking for the tying Goal but Frans Nielsen stole the puck & fed Brandon Dubinskky, who put game on ice with an empty-netter!


LOS ANGELES- Dallas Scores! Dallas Scores! The crowd was going banana’s with the chant “Dallas Scores” as Rookie Brayden Point’s 2nd Goal of the period gave Dallas a 4-0 lead just 16 minutes into the game! Kings Goalie Keith Kinkaid would not leave the net(It was later learned that Martin Jones would not go in to replace him-must be in his contract- e-mailed Pat to make sure- Leave him in said Pat) The Kings, who only had 6 shots in the 1st period, only had 6 in the 2nd period, but they Scored on 3 of them, as Sean Couturier’s Tally made it 4-3 with 10 minutes to go in the 2nd period! Kinkaid was holding fort, while Star’s Goalie James Reimer was on shaky ground! Victor Arvidsson hiked lead to 5-3 & Reimer survived the period! The Stars would add a PPG in the 3rd for a 6-3 Final as Kinkaid shined after the disaster in the opening period, making 11/16 rating saves!



PHILADELPHIA- Victor Arvidsson tied the game with his 2nd of the afternoon late in period three to send the game to Overtime! A late Flyer penalty gave Dallas a PP in OT, but Crawford slammed the door! To the Shootout we go where in the 5th round it was Zach(my back hurts) Parise who gave the Flyers a 4-3 Win with the Game-Deciding Goal! Philly scored 3 times in the Shootout! The “Unsung Hero” for the Flyers was the Fiesty Blueliner Josh Manson, who laid out numerous Hits in the contest!



MINNESOTA- Jakob Silfverberg got the “Hat Trick” as the Stars Top Line of Arvidsson,Backstrom, & Silfverberg accounted for 4 scores in a 7-3 romp over the Wild! Silfverberg had a game-high 12 shots(he thought he was Ovie) as the Stars had a 44-18 shot advantage! Former Star Michael Ferland, who was traded to Minnesota in the pre-season, had a rough outing in his 1st game back in Texas, as he was a -4(plus-minus)skating on the Wild’s Top Line with Jason Zucker & Henrik Zetterberg!
