Block 6 Boston at St.Louis

This was a tight hockey game until the third period when the Blues blew things wide open. Boston led 3-2 going into the third period when Milan Lucic scored early to tie the game at 3-3. Oliver Ekman Larsson scored to give the Blues a lead but Blake Wheeler tied it up again for the Bruins on the powerplay. But Rick Nash gets a key goal on an outside shot, and Filip Forsberg finds the twine on an empty net goal the Blues great their 5 game losing streak at home. Tired of the poor netminding, St.Louis goes back to Connor Hellebuyck for this one. He was not great, but good enough to puck up the win.

Block 6 Vancouver at St.Louis

This was a tale of goaltending. Ben Bishop was terrific in net for the Canucks, especially early when the Blues had all sorts of chances. For the second game in a row, the Blues get terrible goaltending with CArey Price, Connor Hellebuyck, and Mike Smith are all out with injuries.  Young Andrei Vasilevski again lets in an early goal , in fact, three early goals and stops only 4/8 goalie ratings. The Canucks then roll over the hapless St.Louis Blues 7-2.  The young netminder was eventually pulled and Anti Niemi came in for the Blues. But by this time this one was long over.

GAME STORY
The visiting team from Vancouver romped over St.  Louis by a score of
7 to 2.  Vancouver quieted the crowd early, scoring 3 times in the first
period.   HENRIK SEDIN recorded four assists for Vancouver.  And JUSSI
JOKINEN found the net twice and contributed one assist. Others registering
goals were BOONE JENNER, LOUI ERIKSSON, PETER HOLLAND, MARC-EDOUARD VLASIC
and SHAYNE GOSTISBEHERE for Vancouver and MARIAN GABORIK and BRANDON SUTTER
for St. Louis.
