In their home arena Toronto easily handled Minnesota by the final tally
of 4 to 1.  Toronto took advantage of their opportunities with 3 power
play goals.  This was a bit of a nasty affair, as the battlers combined
for 32 penalty minutes.   SIDNEY CROSBY had two goals for Toronto.  BRIAN
ELLIOTT was outstanding in goal.  He allowed just one goal while facing
29 shots. Other goal scorers were SEAN MONAHAN for Minnesota and SCOTT
HARTNELL and JAMES van RIEMSDYK for Toronto.

tampaalternateToronto 2, Tampa 1
On their home ice Toronto squeezed out a victory over Tampa Bay by the
final score of 2 to 1.  Tampa Bay was unable to get their power play going
and finished 0 for 5 with the extra man.  SIDNEY CROSBY netted the last
goal, the game winner, at 17:34 of the 3rd period.  JAKE ALLEN was outstanding
in goal.  He made just one mistake while facing 26 shots. Other goal scorers
were ANZE KOPITAR for Tampa Bay and JASON CHIMERA for Toronto.

In front of a cheering crowd Toronto romped over New York by a score of
7 to 2.  Toronto registered 4 power play goals.  Toronto was relentless
outshooting New York 47 to 22.  Toronto got going early, scoring 3 times
in the first period.   SIDNEY CROSBY had two goals on 8 shots and added
one assist for Toronto.  And CLAUDE GIROUX found the net twice and contributed
one assist. Others who scored were ALEX STEEN and MIKE FISHER for New
York and BRENDAN GALLAGHER, JUSTIN WILLIAMS and RYAN McDONAGH for Toronto.

In a close game, Toronto topped Winnipeg by the final tally of 4 to 2.
JUSTIN WILLIAMS scored the game winner at 17:04 of the 3rd period.  CLAUDE
GIROUX scored once and added two assists for Toronto. Others who scored
were ANDREW LADD and JASON SPEZZA for Winnipeg and JASON CHIMERA and KRIS
LETANG for Toronto.

coloradoalternateToronto 4, Colorado 1
In front of a cheering crowd Toronto easily handled Colorado by the final
tally of 4 to 1.  Toronto scored 3 goals in the second period.   FRANCOIS
BEAUCHEMIN scored once and passed for two assists for Toronto.  BRIAN
ELLIOTT was outstanding in goal.  He made just one mistake while facing
35 shots.  ELLIOTT stopped numerous good scoring chances as the last line
of defense. Others who scored were ALEX KILLORN for Colorado and CLAUDE
GIROUX, JASON CHIMERA and EVANDER KANE for Toronto.
