Games 3, 4 Toronto at Phoenix



Game 3: Phoenix jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal by game 1 hero Max Pacioretty just 1:25 in. Martin St. Louis evened the score with 5 seconds left in the period. 2nd period was all Yotes as Seymon Varlamov was barraged with shot after shot. Half way through the period 2 got by him in the period, 1 from Jordan Eberle and another from defenseman Trevor Daley. At the end of 2 shots were 31-20 in favor of the home team. Anton Khudobin stayed strong and did not falter the rest of the way as Phoenix took the series lead on a 3-1 win.

Game 4: For the 3rd time in the series Phoenix scored the 1st goal. This time it was Ryan O’Reilly halfway through the first on the PP. The 2nd period belonged to the Leafs as they peppered Khudobin with 18 shots to the Coyotes 5. Khudobin finally broke with 90 seconds left as Matt Duchesne scored. The 3rd period was an end to end tennis match which looked like it was going to overtime until Radim Vrbata scored on a rebound (1-18 split) at the 19:21 mark. Phoenix pulled the goalie and managed 3 shots (2 rebounds), but Varlamov held them off for the win. Khudobin was strong in the loss stopping 37 of 39 (11 of 12 on ratings).

Series goes back to Toronto tied at 2.
