2013 Trade summary

Wild send St. Louis to Colorado for , Colorado 1st round ’14, Grigorenko, Pysyk and Tampa Bay 5th round
The Avalanche confirm And welcome St Louis to the team. A veteran like St Louis can really help out this up and coming team. We gave up a lot but we got one of the best in the league Although Pysyk and Grigorenko never suited up for the team, we had them rated as top prospects and we expect them both to be stars in this league one day We wish them all the best in their new home

There’s also a nice nostalgic trade between the Isle and Bolts as the Isle send the Finnish Flash back home to where it all began 20 yrs ago……

The Colorado Avalanche held a press conference earlier today to announce a major trade. Av’s top scorer Jiri Tlusty has been moved to the Chicago Black Hawks in exchange for forward Craig Smith and Chicago’s first round pick in next years rookie draft.
Patrick Roy was quoted as saying “We will certainly miss his 18 goals and 34 points in 30 games as well as the solid effort Jiri has given us on every shift this year. But our team is a long way from being a true contender and the pieces from this deal will hopefully help us is years to come as we rebuild this franchise to a championship team like I was part of years ago.”

The Buffalo Sabres and the St.Louis Blues hooked up for a big trade that should really boost the Sabres playoff chances. The Blues sent high scoring winger Ilya Kovalchuk and star dman Dion Phaneuf to Buffalo for the Sabres first round pick, young dman Justin Faulk, and promising Emerson Etem. The GM of the Blues had this to say.” We have been struggling miserably at home. It just seems we lose more than we win and the Blues organization felt if we are out of the playoff picture we needed to get something back for Kovalchuk. No sense keeping a great scoring card like that and be out of the playoffs. Kovalchuk should really boost the scoring of the Sabres and Phaneuf can do it all. He intimidates, plays great defense, and can pass the puck. We just hope you can take a quality prospect with the first round pick, and hope that Faulk and Etem develop the way we think they can. I think it is a trade that really helps both teams”
